The White Box studios are always top notch! Always clean! Well appointed! Easy to book! Beautiful window light in both studios! Only a few blocks to the ocean, beach and boardwalk! Highly recommended!

Hi guys, I’m sorry to be writing this, but I’m just really pissed. I’ve been going to White Box Studios (WBS) since 2019 I think, maybe longer. I love this studio and consider it my home studio. Through this whole time, I’ve always dealt with Anthony, who was always cool and awesome. I also knew a few of the partners there. Recently Ant passed the reigns off to Mike. Although a new manager was at the helm, I assumed the original business practices would have remained the same. Normally the course of action is to put a request via the site and then an email or text confirming the rental, together with a PayPal or Venmo link for the amount. Many times, I would confirm and ask if I could pay a few days out or closer to the date. This was never a problem. The new manager, however, does not use the website or email, which I didn’t know initially (he prefers texts). So when I put out a rental request on Monday 3/10 (he says since Sunday which was not true) for this Sat (3/15) from 9AM-5PM, he never replied to it. Instead we spoke via text. Still, we didn’t confirm anything until the next day, which was when he sent over his PayPal info. Today, Wed (3/12), he reached out and asked to let him know about payment. I told him I would get to it later today as I was super busy. He literally said “no worries brother”. Fast forward to tonight at 6:30PM and he tells me he partially booked my space. I’ve never had that happen before, especially not at WBS. Unfortunately, this week has been really crazy and I just figured I’d pay it after I got home and had dinner. I’m not saying I don’t hold some of the blame for that. But still, I just assumed everything was as it used to be, especially with the “no worries brother”. I think the biggest thing was that he didn’t give me a final heads-up. I should have treated this rental as if I had never done business with WBS before. Maybe the outcome would have been different. But the truth is that this studio no longer values trust, commitment or common sense. If he had told me to pay or he was going to fill the slot, I would have understood the urgency and paid immediately or asked for a delay and paid by that agreed time. Regardless, this just leaves a very bad taste. It’s bad enough to have to rely on talent who might flake and leave you hanging. Your studio should be your bedrock but unfortunately this one is now on shaky ground. I’ve included my initial email request for the studio and the subsequent texts for reference so you can make up your own minds.

This space inside the Jersey Shore Arts Center is second to none. The historical architecture, amazing natural light and spacious rooms are the perfect fit for photography. A dream really....

I have used White Box Studios several times. Reservations and the entry process are simple and always work well. The facility is well equipped and the natural light is always beautiful. I expect to be using this space again very soon.

White Box Studios is a great studio to work at. The in-house photographers are super cool and very helpful. There is great lighting for natural light as well as great space for doing any type of photo shoot whether you’re doing boudoir fashion, editorial or beauty I highly recommend the studio to any aspiring photographer who wants to build their portfolio with the proper studio. Great place to do a photo shoot.
