photodom. NYC Introduce

photodom. NYC is located at 1717 Broadway #310, Brooklyn, NY 11207, USA. They can be contacted at (347) 365-5660 or +1 347-365-5660.

This establishment offers film development and scanning services, including ENC-2 processing. However, customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the quality of service and handling of film. Reports of damaged, lost, and discarded film rolls are prevalent, with allegations that customers are often blamed for these issues. Additionally, the scanning quality is described as poor, with cheap auto scanners producing inconsistent results. The customer service has also been heavily criticized, with reports of employees being unable to process orders efficiently and a lack of willingness to resolve customer issues.

The location of the studio is also a point of contention, with customers describing it as being in a run-down building in a less than desirable area. The studio also does not cut and sleeve film, instead placing it in envelopes, which can lead to damage.

Key features and services offered by photodom. NYC include:

  • Film development, including ENC-2 processing.
  • Film scanning services.
  • Reported high risk of film damage or loss.
  • Poor quality film scans.
  • Extremely poor customer service.
  • Unfavorable location.

Customer experiences with photodom. NYC are overwhelmingly negative. Potential customers are strongly advised to consider alternative film development and scanning services due to the high risk of film damage, poor scan quality, and extremely poor customer service. While they may be one of the few labs in NYC to offer ENC-2 processing, the risks involved appear to significantly outweigh any potential benefits.

Don't leave your film here. I used to work there and unfortunately, saw so many customers rolls damaged, lost, or thrown out. Because most customers are new to film, we were told to blame damages on the customer or their camera. Another employee posted to Reddit about this. The owner saw that post, assumed I wrote it, and doxxed me there. Given his weird and reckless response, I am leaving this here.

I tried to get film developed for ENC-2 process. The employee can't even make the order standing in front of me. I had to make an account with a password, email verification, and waste my time on their website and order this way. One of the worst business models I have ever seen. It is your job to do the write up, why am I doing your job? Scans: I got the scans back, one roll was fine but the other had significant problems. They clearly use a cheap auto scanner. The blacks were not the same in all the shots and it was clear the auto scanner tried to compensate. Service: One roll was not ENC-2 so I was accidentally over charged, they said I have a $9 credit and I tried to use it to buy film. They said it is only a lab coupon. I will never use it as this is simply a bad lab. So they now will just keep the $9 I can never get back. Picking Up: They also do not cut and sleeve the film. They put it in an envelope. This sucks as it can be easily crunched, only cheep labs do this. Location: One of the worst locations out there. Super ghetto spot, it's on the 3rd floor of a trashy building with people smoking skunk weed and making terrible music down the hall. Terrible spot. This is probably one of the worst labs in NY. You would think being in such a trash spot near Broadway Junction they might be cheaper, but no. They are the same cost as many other higher quality labs that are in Manhattan, who have proper customer service and can actually make the order for you. Conclusion: If you are getting an ENC-2 process then it's one of your only choices in NY. Other than that, avoid is dump at all cost.

I want to give them a chance to prove me wrong, but as a first-time customer, I’m a bit concerned. I purchased a camera for $1,809, and after three business days, there has been no progress. I haven't received any delivery confirmation, and when I called customer service, they didn’t seem very welcoming. I was informed that the item is in their inventory, so I'm not sure what the hold-up is.

I will not be returning to this shop. I initially paid for two rolls to be developed but requested a refund for one, as it was no longer needed. Over a week has passed, and I have yet to receive my refund. There is no available customer support email, and they consistently fail to answer their phone.

I recently discovered this hidden gem in Bushwick called Photodom. After giving them my film photos to process, I found that while 70% of the photos were bad (my fault), the ones that turned out well are now cherished memories in my hand. Photodom is a true treasure for film enthusiasts.
