The QUALITY of the photos here are top tier. A gentleman helped me, I believe he's the owner of the store, I usually catch him in the afternoons, and it's clear that he has great passion for the work that he does. He took the time to listen to all of my requests. I had a couple of jobs for him including photo restoration of a very old photo and I was SO impressed with the end result. He also helped me with picking a custom frame, he had an amazing selection, and the end result was beautiful. Really happy and would highly recommend this place. Love supporting local businesses!

0/5 DO NOT RECOMMEND! This place LOST my photos not once but TWICE!! I took a disposable camera to be developed 2 years ago after a trip to London & Sweden. I asked for prints. Went the next day to pick it up they said it’s not ready yet to come back the following day. Went 2 days later and they couldn’t find my prints. I gave them my name, number and the date I dropped it off and they said they would call when they found them. They never called so I went back in. They sat me at the computer to go through all the photos for around the time that I dropped it off and my pictures were never developed. They concluded that they lost the roll and they offered me a free disposable camera and a free development as compensation. I was devastated. It had been my first trip to Europe and I had painstakingly curated the limited number of pictures in the roll and was so excited to see how they had turned out. I used their disposable camera on a trip to Trinidad for my first time experiencing Carnival. I misplaced the camera when I returned home and finally found it months later. I took it in to be developed Dec 20th. I decide this time to just ask them to email it to me, thinking that maybe it will be easier than doing prints and since it’s less steps I’d receive it. During the holiday season I actually forgot about it and only remembered last week. I scoured my email looking for the pictures that were no where to be found. I called them and they said they can’t find it and to come in and look on the computer. I gave them the exact time and date I brought it in. We went through the pictures they developed around that time together and lo and behold once again my pictures had FAILED TO EVEN BE DEVELOPED! I still can’t believe it. Sheer careless! I only took the second roll back to be developed because they were doing it for free after their first mistake. I never in a million years believed they would lose my pictures again. They took my name, phone number and email and said they will call when they find them. I have zero hope of them ever finding them. They don’t even seem to care that they are losing people precious memories! Take your business ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

I went to one of the USPS stores to take multiple passport pictures and was recommended to visit this store by the employees there. In total, I needed six copies of my picture and paid roughly $42. The person who took my picture and did the editing was nice and kind. My only complaint would be the high price compared to other options like Rite Aid and CSV.

Came here yesterday to take a passport picture. I always had bad passport pictures so I wanted this one to be better. The person who took the pictures was SO NICE and patient. He took around 8 shots until I chose the one I wanted. I recommend coming here. Your pictures will be great and the service from this man is very good. 👍🏻 They also have good hours. Most places close at 7 pm. They are open till 9.

I often find myself mourning the passing of the NYC of my youth - the place and time where the streets were full of character instead of corporate branding. Stepping into 86th St Photo is like walking through a portal into the past, but not in a good way. It’s the kind of business that will give you a headache, and then say it’s your fault for having a head. Their rude, rather questionable approach to commerce should be relegated to the past. That space is the perfect size for a Just Salad or Panda Express, and I will not shed tears when the corporate overlords eventually move in.
